I’m Lily, a home-educating mum of two, living in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. I’ve always been animal-obsessed (my childhood was wildlife books and nature documentaries), which led me to a first-class degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare BSc (Hons).
I’ve also loved working with children in education. After running parent-and-child groups, I created my own zoology tutoring sessions and I can’t believe they’re almost 1 year old! The support and fun I’ve had has been incredible and I feel so blessed.
When I’m not teaching or planning lessons, you’ll find me pottering in the garden, curled up lost in a fantasy book or learning something new with my children.
And because I can’t choose just one… my favourite animals are African elephants, grey wolves, killer whales and chimpanzees.
I’m fully enhanced DBS-checked, have completed child safeguarding training, paediatric first aid and multiple CPD courses, including creating SEN-friendly classes. Your children’s safety and inclusivity are my top priorities.
I studied at Hartpury University and was awarded a First Class degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare Bsc (Hons).
Over the duration of 10+ years I’ve worked with animals in lots of ways, including:
3 different animal charities (part of the rehoming and education teams)
Canine hydrotherapist assistant (swimming with dogs!)
Farm hand (looking after the red deer herds)
Studying white rhino behaviour in South Africa (yes, I got to watch baby rhinos for days!)
In regards to education and working with children:
I worked as part of the education team in one of my animal charity roles, hosting educational groups that focused on animal care and creating enrichment
Whilst studying, I gave up time to gain work experience as a classroom assistant for teens - I particularly enjoyed the discussions we had in these lessons
I worked for a year in a childcare setting, taking care of pre-school aged children and playing lots of games
